Next to the cruise terminal, on the right side, on Woodes Roger Walk, you will find a Ferry Boat (costs around $8.00 USD return). The ferry will take you on a short cruise through the harbor ending at a dock under the main bridge on Paradise Island. A multitude of lunch options were available at the park itself, including grilled burgers, jerk chicken and adult beverages too. There were also restaurants inside the resort such as a pizzeria and mediterranean cuisine. If you are jonesing for Starbucks you can get that here as well.

When it’s time to return to the cruise port, simply head to the designated shuttle bus pickup area at Atlantis. The shuttle buses usually operate on a regular schedule, allowing you to choose a convenient time that fits with your plans. Even my eight year old had a great time climbing the fort and playing on the sprayground. What we did run into was long wait times for just about everything. I’m talking 45 minutes to get a coffee from Starbucks, 30 minutes to grab a sandwich from the walk up snack bar… you get the idea. In general, everything was just undersized and understaffed for the volume of people moving through the resort. I was a bit concerned after reading the many online reviews complaining about the service – particularly negative attitudes from staff.
Once you've arrived on the island, there's no need to rent a car, as visitors can easily walk the grounds and explore everything the hotel has to offer on foot. As most cruise passengers that have booked shore excursions onboard will tell you, the great advantage of doing so is the peace of mind guaranteed by the cruise line. You will not have to look for transportation to Atlantis, negotiate prices with taxi drivers, and when you will be taken back to the ship on time. But you may want to look into other ways of exploring Atlantis.
So if you’re planning to do this, go before 6pm, and consider just sending one person to grab a pizza as take out. There are 20+ restaurants right on the resort property, so you certainly aren’t going to go hungry on your stay. Especially considering many of them are relatively simple food. Everything here is so yummy, and the staff is super friendly, too. Golf lovers are ready to step into the mesmerizing golf course of Atlantis Bahamas. With a beautiful Atlantic Ocean view, I think this golf course is among the best in the Caribbean. There is also a Golf shop form where you can rent out Golf accessories. There are over 250 marine species underwater; you can see all this through 100-foot-long underwater tunnels.
Overall, we had a wonderful family vacation and it was perfect as a way to celebrate my son’s birthday, as he was absolutely enamored with the water park activities. So if your main reason to visit Atlantis is to take advantage of the water park and marine life activities, then it’s definitely worth a trip. But the three nights we spent were plenty for us – I wouldn’t want to make this a longer trip. It’s a little less convenient, but can save you quite a bit of money if you’re willing to walk or shuttle into the resort each day. Day passes are mandatory for all non-hotel guests at the Atlantis to experience Dolphin Cay, the waterpark, the marine habitat, and the beaches. The passes can be purchased (on a restricted basis) at the Atlantis Adventures desk, situated at the clock tower at The Coral.
